Doug Bannister, responsible for the Port of Dover told The Guardian, that this is due to the delay on the implementation of the EU high-tech biometric app. In the case of passengers travelling by boat, every traveller will have to leave their car and be manually verified with fingerprint checks as well as having a picture taken.
According to the report, they expect that this extra step will only increase car journey times by six more minutes than usual, however some critics believe that the time will not apply to truck drivers, which number more than 10 thousand a day at the Port of Dover.
For us but not the hundreds of dinghy males who are boated in on our shores every day? Oh that’s different, ok .. Sigh. passport and now fingerprints, nothing but a ponzi scam
