Figures from the Australian Energy Market Operator have revealed that the country had its greenest quarter in the first three months of 2025, with renewables providing 43 percent of the nation’s electricity.

It also noted an 85 percent surge in battery capacity, plus a 16 percent increase in rooftop solar, while gas and coal generation plummeted in the same period.
Under Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who was re-elected in a landslide in May, renewables have been able to flourish in Australia.
