The goal is to enhance the quality of meal services provided to the school community.

According to the Porto de Mós Town Council, the project includes a full renovation of the food preparation and distribution zones. This involves replacing outdated equipment, installing new work surfaces, modern stoves, and other essential elements. The improvements are designed to raise standards of hygiene, safety, and efficiency in the canteen’s daily operations.

Beyond the benefits to students and staff, the investment will also improve working conditions for the kitchen staff by providing a safer and more functional work environment. These upgrades reflect a commitment to supporting not just the educational needs of students, but also their health and well-being.

This initiative is backed by the Directorate-General for Schools (Direção-Geral dos Estabelecimentos Escolares), showing strong cooperation between local and national bodies in promoting better educational infrastructure.

This renovation is part of a broader effort to invest in public education facilities across the region. With more modern and efficient kitchen facilities, the school will be better equipped to serve nutritious meals in a clean and safe environment – key to supporting student’s learning and overall development.
