The flight landed this Tuesday at Sangster International Airport (SIA), in Montego Bay, with 358 passengers and crew on board, beginning an operation that will significantly strengthen the presence of the Jamaica destination in the European market.
This new direct service, operated by an Airbus A330-300 with a capacity of 388 seats, will operate weekly every Wednesday until October 1, 2025.

“We are delighted to welcome World2Fly’s inaugural flight connecting Lisbon directly to our beautiful Montego Bay. This historic flight marks a new chapter in the relationship between Portugal and Jamaica, opening our doors to Portuguese and European travellers seeking an authentic Caribbean experience. Jamaica offers Portuguese visitors everything they desire in a tropical destination: pristine beaches, a rich cultural heritage, warm hospitality and unforgettable experiences. With World2Fly’s commitment to offering affordable fares and a convenient weekly service, we are making it easier than ever for Portuguese families and travellers to discover why Jamaica is truly ‘Of Many, One People’,” said Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism.
Commitment to the Portuguese market
The opening of this new connection reinforces Jamaica’s commitment to diversifying its source markets in Europe and focuses on Portugal as the next target for direct connectivity. This new link also represents a strategic opportunity to bring Jamaica even closer to the Iberian market as a whole, with Spain and Portugal as priority countries in the European tourism diversification strategy.
