The operation was part of an inspection operation targeting food storage establishments in the district, with the aim of ensuring compliance with legal food safety standards.
"As a result of the action, the suspension of the activity of an illegal industrial establishment was ordered, due to lack of licensing for the activity carried out and the placing on the market of products without the appropriate identification mark, with more than 17 tonnes of various foodstuffs of animal origin having been seized, with an estimated value of 115,000 euros", announced the ASAE in a statement.
"The respective infringement proceedings were instituted for the illegal exercise of the warehousing activity (lack of veterinary control number)".
The economic operator thus failed to comply with food safety standards and the legal provisions of the applicable regulations
