Beja, Bragança, Castelo Branco, Évora, Guarda, Portalegre and Vila Real are the districts under a yellow warning from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), until 6 pm on Friday, due to "persistent high maximum temperature values".

In the case of Bragança, Guarda and Vila Real, there is a warning of "conditions favourable to the occurrence of showers and thunderstorms, which may be hail, accompanied by convective gusts" of wind.

The IPMA predicts for Friday, in mainland Portugal, maximum temperatures of 39 degrees in Beja, 37 in Évora and Castelo Branco, 36 in Bragança and Portalegre, and 35 in Évora and Vila Real.
