According to the Automóvel Club de Portugal, the price of a litre of diesel will rise by eight cents and the price of a litre of petrol by three cents.
According to the General Directorate of Energy and Geology (DGEG), the average price of a litre of diesel in Portugal on Friday (June 20) was 1.536 euros, while that of petrol was 1.692 euros.
If the forecasts for the week of June 23 to 29 are confirmed, the average price of regular diesel should be €1.616 per litre, while that of regular 95 petrol could rise to €1.722 per litre.
Please note that these forecasts are based on the assumption that the extraordinary tax reduction measures implemented by the government to mitigate price increases will continue.
The measures in force include the reduction of the ISP (which is equivalent to a reduction in VAT of 23% and 13%), the compensation mechanism by which the ISP is reduced in relation to the additional VAT revenue, and the suspension of the carbon tax update.
