As for peak summer fares, the airline expressed “cautious optimism” that they would be flat to slightly higher than the previous year.
The outcome was somewhat higher than the experts' projected profit of €1.91 billion.
Ryanair, which is the biggest airline in Europe based on passenger volume, has stated that it would be 23 aircraft short of what Boeing was supposed to deliver by the end of July, and there's still a chance that deliveries might be delayed much further.
The airline carried 183.7 million passengers in the 2024 fiscal year, a 9% increase in volume.
In addition, five additional bases were added this year, and more than 200 new routes will be operational this summer.
But expenses were also growing. Ryanair reported a 32% increase in fuel costs, which brought the total to €5.14 billion for the year, up €1.25 billion.
