Heavy rain warning extended

Six districts in the north of mainland Portugal will be under a yellow weather warning today and Thursday due to the forecast of showers, sometimes heavy and occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

The districts under warning are Viseu, Porto, Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro and Braga. They all end at 3am on Thursday.

This warning begins at 09:00 in the districts of Braga and Viana do Castelo, at 18:00 in Porto and Vila Real and at 21:00 in Viseu and Aveiro.

The central group of the Azores (Faial, Pico, São Jorge, Terceira and Graciosa) will also be under yellow warning until 12pm due to precipitation.
