The Spanish royal family announced that the youngest daughter of the Spanish monarchs will study Political Science and International Relations at Forward College, a private university.

The three-year program is taught in three different cities. The first year is in Lisbon, the second in Paris, and the final in Berlin. This means that the Infanta will be spending time in the center of the Portuguese capital, as the university campus is on Rua das Flores, in the Chiado area.

According to Hola! magazine, the young woman's tuition costs around 18,500 euros per year at a university that originated at the London School of Economics and was founded by Boris Walbaum, Celine Boisson, and Jeffrey Sampson in September 2021.

Unlike her sister, who is dedicated to a military career, Sofía chose to attend university but had two conditions, the publication reveals. She would have to choose a university close to Spain to fulfil her institutional duties, and she would have to choose a program that would equip her for her role in the Spanish crown.

The Infanta will arrive in Lisbon in September and will take Political Science, Philosophy, History, and Business as her first subjects.

Like her sister, Leonor, Sofía headed to Wales in 2023 to pursue her International Baccalaureate at Atlantic College, which she completed this year. The proud parents were present at the graduation ceremony, except for Princess Leonor, who was at sea aboard the training ship Juan Sebastián Elcano, where she was completing her military career.

Sofía turned 18 in April of this year, a date celebrated with her parents and marked on the royal family's social media with official photos of the young woman.

The following day, the Infanta received her first decoration, the Grand Cross of the Order of Isabella the Catholic. This title is awarded to "reward extraordinary acts of a civil nature [...] that benefit the Nation or contribute significantly to fostering relations of friendship and cooperation between the Spanish Nation and the rest of the International Community," reports Vanitatis magazine.
