Discover why Tapada Grande Beach is one of the best river beaches in Europe, with water temperatures reaching 30°C.

This river beach is distinguished by its tranquil atmosphere, extensive sand, and a reservoir with calm, warm waters, ideal for swimming, water sports, and enjoying the Alentejo heat.

According to the most recent World Travel Awards, this distinction was awarded in the most recent edition of the award, solidifying Tapada Grande as one of the top river destinations in Alentejo and Europe.

Tapada Grande has been awarded the Blue Flag and the Gold Quality seal since 2012, and is also accessible to people with reduced mobility—equipped with amphibious chairs, access ramps, changing rooms, and shaded areas.

It's a place for families with children, couples seeking peace and quiet, or even travellers seeking nature. During the summer months, there are lifeguards, outdoor cultural events, terraces, and the possibility of renting kayaks, pedal boats, or paddleboards.
