The execution of these system testing and evaluation efforts requires the closure of vehicle traffic at all access points to the Grilo Tunnel, in the Algés-Sacavém direction, between 10:00 PM on Monday, August 25th, and 6:00 AM on Tuesday, August 26th.
During this period, according to Infraestruturas de Portugal, the following alternative routes should be used:
- Those traveling from the A8 to access the Grilo Tunnel can continue on the A8 until the exit for Av. Padre Cruz/Calcada de Carriche.
- Those traveling from the IC17 should continue on Av. Padre Cruz/Calcada de Carriche.
- Those traveling from Odivelas (A40) should continue straight on to Av. Padre Cruz/Calcada de Carriche.
During the daytime, between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM, the restrictions already implemented are maintained.
IP also reports that the Public Security Police (PSP) will be on-site to support and coordinate vehicle traffic.
Traffic restrictions and corresponding alternative detours will be clearly signposted on-site and displayed on Variable Message Signs.
"We appreciate your understanding of any inconvenience this may cause, as this is necessary to ensure the safety of construction workers and drivers," they write in the same statement.
