The group, which meets every Tuesday morning from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the Waterdog Bar in Armação de Pêra, (re-starting after the summer break on Tuesday, September 9) invites the community to join their mission to provide warmth and comfort to those in need this coming winter.

The Need
While 549 hats was an amazing achievement, the sad reality is that there are many more homeless and struggling families in the Algarve who went without. With the support of local residents and businesses, hundreds were helped last year – but the need is still great. This year, the group is determined to exceed last year’s total and reach even more people.

How You Can Help
The Algarve Crochet and Knitting Group is seeking support in two ways:

  • Yarn Donations – If you have unwanted yarn, please consider donating it. Every ball of yarn helps create another hat for someone in need.
  • Knitters and Crocheters – Whether you are an experienced crafter or just starting out, your time and skills can make a real difference.

Donations of yarn or completed hats can be dropped off at:
