In a statement, the Lisbon City Hall announced that Avenida Marginal will be closed to traffic between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, between Parede (Cascais) and Alcântara (Lisbon).
"In total, there will be more than 15 km of sports activities for all ages, from Alcântara (Lisbon) to Parede (Cascais), crossing the entire waterfront of the municipality of Oeiras," the statement said.
The event, organized by the municipalities of Cascais, Oeiras, and Lisbon, is both recreational and sporting, aiming to "encourage physical exercise and the adoption of healthy lifestyles," with walks, runs, bike rides, skateboarding, and rollerblading, as well as activities along the riverfront.
According to the city government, along the route, there will be activities ranging from climbing to Pilates, tennis to surfing, sailing to orienteering, as well as group classes, fitness circuits, health checkups, inflatable toys, pedal-powered vehicles, and traditional games.
