This is one of the largest pilgrimages to Cova da Iria, according to a statement from the Sanctuary of Fátima, emphasising that this year's pilgrimage will have a "jubilee character, coinciding with the Holy Year, and the program will be extended to two days."

Motorcyclists will participate in the celebrations, including welcoming pilgrims, carrying the shrine, supporting the distribution of communion, reciting the rosary, and proclaiming the readings, the statement says.

In addition to the 11:00 a.m. Sunday Mass, presided over by Rui Valério, in the Shrine's Prayer Area, this year the program extends to the previous day (Saturday), with motorcyclists invited to experience the entire weekend in Fátima.

According to the Shrine of Fátima, "the novelty of the program is the integration of activities that aim to deepen the relationship between the Christian faith and road safety."

To that end, on Saturday the 20th, a colloquium will take place on the theme "Road Safety in the Horizons of Faith" at the Paulo VI Pastoral Center, with free participation.

In 2024, more than 180,000 motorcyclists participated in the Helmet Blessing Pilgrimage, the Shrine of Fátima also reports.
