Oosterwold, in the Netherlands, has launched a unique urban planning experiment that requires residents to dedicate at least 50 percent of their plots for food cultivation.

This initiative aims to foster self-sufficiency, promote sustainable living, and help residents save money on grocery costs by connecting urban residents to agricultural processes.
The district challenges traditional city planning by allowing residents the freedom in their house designs while sharing responsibility for the area’s infrastructure and services.

Haven't Europeans learned yet that command economies do not produce anything comparable to free enterprise economies? Wasn't 70 years of the failed murderous experiment known as the Soviet Union proof enough? Apparently not, since politicians cannot help but order people into their crazy do-gooder schemes. And what's even more pathetic is that these same politicians are complete incompetents when it comes to producing or fixing anything. Must be the feudal socialistic genes still floating around in the European DNA.
