“It’s hot!” Jenny exclaims as she deposits an armful of bestseller books on the ledge of “O Tasco’s” wall. The staff are busy too, popping out to buy-up the bargains and then start up lunch. Some of their younger family have also joined in. “We’ve a lot of new faces coming to our events and “Pop-Up” Shops. We are forever grateful for the community spirit and indeed their loyalty.” Jenny has been a busy bunny.

“We’ve learnt from Lianne that our adopted abandonee “Amigo” is gradually looking less petrified. Taking food not directly from her hand, but almost.” A great break through. Everyone concerned has warmed towards Amigo and his saviours. “Needless to say, it will take time but we’ll get there.”

A lot of activity also with Anita’s Ambassadorial role for “Legacy for Pets”. She is busy, clocking up the kilometres visiting and contacting people interested in ARA’s “Pet Plan”. Anita gave a talk to a recent charity networking group meeting at Kit and Caboodle. “We also count on word-of-mouth.” She smiles and waves to a new customer. “We have so many people to thank for their loyalty and introducing friends.”

Jenny and her hard-working team try to bring the best of The Association for Protection of Animals Algarve to the community’s door-step. “Always thinking of new venues and planning ahead. Often we have to look at the diary and double check the month, or is it the week?” But the good news is, that interest in the association is growing in popularity and new members are now joining.
