"At 12:00p,, there are nearly 25,000 customers without power, and with the improvement in weather conditions expected for the afternoon, E-Redes expects to quickly resolve all constraints," it informed in a statement.

The electricity distribution network operator stated that "it has mobilized 500 operational personnel in the field to provide a robust and effective response to the constraints and power outages that have been felt throughout the country."

At 7:00am, there were 53 power outages and approximately 31,000 customers without electricity, a situation that worsened around 8:00am, affecting 37,000 customers, mainly in the Mondego and Tagus regions.

According to the company, at 8:30am, a peak of approximately 60,000 customers without power was reached, and by 11:00am, “there was a significant improvement in the response to resolving the constraints experienced on the network, with approximately 42,000 customers still without electricity,” especially in the districts of Santarém, Castelo Branco, and Portalegre.

E-Redes further detailed that it activated the alert status from 8:00pm on Tuesday due to the forecast of severe weather with heavy rain and thunderstorms, which began affecting the northern area of ​​Lisbon in the early hours of that morning and moved towards the northern interior of the country.
