With around 30 teams from Portugal, Spain, France, the Netherlands, and Belgium, FIBAQ reaffirms itself as the largest ballooning event in Portugal and one of the most emblematic in Europe.
For six days, the public can watch and participate in two daily flight sessions—at sunrise and after lunch—and experience first-hand balloon assembly, talk to the teams, and witness the sky transform into a spectacle of colour and light.
Among the highlights, the Night Glow, one of the most anticipated moments of the festival, will take place in Ponte de Sor on Saturday, November 8th, at 7:15 pm. The show combines music and light, transforming the balloons into giant, colourful lanterns.
In addition to free flights, the program includes tethered flight baptisms, an opportunity for children from 6 years old and adults to experience the sensation of ascending in a hot air balloon, in a safe and controlled manner. Registration is still available on the website www.fibaq.com.
“Reaching the 28th edition of FIBAQ is proof of the strength of a project that was born in Alentejo and has gained international dimension,” emphasizes Aníbal Soares, managing partner of Publibalão, adding that “the involvement of the municipalities, the enthusiasm of the teams and the public's response show that ballooning is already part of the identity of our territory.”
The event's mission is to promote ballooning in Portugal, encourage technical and cultural exchange between pilots, and involve local communities.
