“The PSP's mountain search, rescue, relief and salvage brigade, accompanied by the Forestry Police and the GNR (National Republican Guard), resumed the search outside of pedestrian access routes and in steep areas from the beginning of today,” a written response sent to the Lusa news agency stated.
“No further information is to be added,” the same information reads.
On Wednesday, the PSP told Lusa that the searches were suspended once “the necessary steps on the existing pedestrian routes in the cellular triangulation area had been exhausted” and that they would be resumed today.
On Tuesday, police were conducting searches in this area of cell triangulation, specifically in a section of the Levada dos Tornos, which is the longest in the autonomous region, stretching over 100 kilometres and crossing several municipalities.
