The competition will take place on Saturday and Sunday on a six-kilometre circuit on the sand of Monte Gordo beach, which will feature new jump areas, giving "more spectacularity" to the race, the Vila Real de Santo António City Council, a partner of the Automobile Club of Portugal in organizing the event, stated in a press release.
In addition to the Monte Gordo Sand Race, the circuit installed on the beach will also host races of the Yamaha Sand Race Experience Trophy 2025, on Saturday and Sunday, in between the main races, the municipality of Espírito Santo highlighted.
The City Council considers that this competition “reinforces the role of Vila Real de Santo António and the Algarve as a destination for major competitions”, projecting the image of the municipality and the region internationally, and has “positive impacts on tourism, restaurants and the local economy”.
