The assembly was convened by the Federation of Transport and Communications Unions (Fectrans) to discuss with workers the demands and mobilization for the general strike on December 11.
The CGTP and UGT unions called the general strike in response to the proposed labour law reform presented by the Government, marking the first strike to bring together the two central trade unions since June 2013, when Portugal was under the intervention of the 'troika'.
