The Portuguese Institute for the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) has raised warnings to red for rough seas and to orange for snowfall, due to the effects of Storm Joseph as it passes through mainland Portugal.

Due to rough seas, the districts of Braga, Coimbra, Aveiro, Beja, Leiria, Lisbon, Viana do Castelo, Setúbal, Faro and Porto will be under red alert on 28 January.
An orange alert due to snowfall has been issued for the districts of Bragança, Viseu, Porto, Guarda, Vila Real, Viana do Castelo and Castelo Branco, in force from today until the early hours of Wednesday, 28 January.
The IPMA has also issued orange wind warnings for all mainland districts of Portugal, except Bragança.
