The districts of Bragança, Viseu, Porto, Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga will be under yellow alert due to snowfall between 9 am and 9 pm today, 9 March.
The districts of Guarda and Castelo Branco are also under the same snow alert between 9 am today and 3 am on Tuesday, 10 March.
The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) also issued a yellow alert due to rough seas for the districts of Porto, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro, Braga, Coimbra, Lisbon, Leiria and Setúbal from 9 pm today until Tuesday.
Faro and Beja will also be under yellow alert due to rough seas, with forecasts of northwest waves of 4 to 4.5 meters between 3 am and 3 pm on Tuesday.
The yellow warning is issued by IPMA whenever there is a risk to certain weather-dependent activities.
Minimum temperatures will range between -2 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) and 9 degrees Celsius (in Faro), and maximum temperatures between 5 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) and 17 degrees Celsius (in Faro).
