Once completed, the infrastructure will transfer into public ownership, with Uisce Éireann responsible for operation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance. Nature-based treatment systems using plants, soils and microorganisms are expected to be the most common technical solution. Further guidance and technical standards will be issued to planning authorities and developers to ensure national consistency.
