Last summer, on a sunny afternoon, we took a stroll through Lagos old town and came across this hidden gem — a restaurant called The Garden, full of greenery, set in a restored historic courtyard with a beautiful urban garden. We really wanted to come back for dinner, but unfortunately, they were fully booked, and the same applied for the other evenings while my family was visiting me.
I even forgot about it. When we visited Lagos this spring, we passed by again and were able to get a spot, since it wasn’t the main season yet. It was still quite busy, so I definitely recommend booking in advance. The place focuses on fresh, local ingredients and serves a mix of Mediterranean and Portuguese dishes, including grilled meats, fresh seafood, and vegetarian options, along with a large BBQ setup.
This place is absolutely unique; you feel like you’re eating surrounded by a large garden.
Lemon trees grow above the tables, and we even witnessed a waitress picking lemons straight from the trees to use in the kitchen.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique spot to have a meal.
