Its highlight remains the “French salon”, a 50m x 15m natural light exhibition hall that features some of the grandest works of art. As is typical in recent years, for all of 2026, it will feature an exhibition showcasing a wide variety of art by the society’s members. It is free to enter, creating an open space for artists and art enthusiasts to enjoy.
The building also features other great exhibitions in its smaller spaces.

Known as a free space for expression, cemented during Portugal's dictatorship era, when the secret police confiscated 11 paintings for not reflecting the correct political views. The Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes is expected to see more great artists and art in its halls.
