“This is an important step in the strategy of expanding and consolidating the national network of CUF hospitals, clinics and health centres. The increased focus on the West region will allow us to provide a differentiated and comprehensive response to the needs of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and support for families”, stated the president of the CUF executive committee, Rui Diniz, quoted in a press release.
The new building, built from scratch in Quinta das Pevides with an area of 1,700 square meters, replaces the facilities opened in 2014 in Mafra, a municipality in the district of Lisbon that has been growing in demographic terms, registering a current population of 86 thousand, according to the last Census of 2021.
The investment will also allow the creation of more than a hundred jobs in relation to the existing ones and expand and diversify the offer of health care, with a total of 230 employees.
With a floor dedicated to healthcare activities, the new clinic has 19 consulting rooms and three examination rooms, which allow for an increase in the offer in several medical and surgical specialties, such as Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Gynecology-Obstetrics, Otorhinolaryngology, Cardiology and Pediatrics.
Strengthening healthcare also includes dental consultations and exams, mammograms and magnetic resonance imaging, as well as other complementary diagnostic and therapeutic methods, including x-rays, obstetric ultrasounds, clinical analyses, nursing treatments, among others.
The new space will also have a playground and parking.
