On the 13th and 15th of May, this Municipality, in partnership with APAL – Albufeira Promotion Agency, organises two strategic promotional actions that aim to “reinforce the reputation of Albufeira as a tourist destination of excellence”.

There are two roadshows to be held in the cities of Toronto (May 13) and New York (May 15). José Carlos Rolo, Mayor of Albufeira, says that these roadshows have already been developed in previous years, “taking into account the strategic interest in these markets that are already considered among the most important at a national level, presenting potential for growth both during and outside the bathing season”.

The initiative has the support of several APAL members and aims to "promote the destination in two markets that are becoming increasingly important for Portugal and the Algarve, taking advantage of the strengthening of air connections with the United States through United Airlines' new direct route between Newark and Faro, which is expected to begin on May 17th this year, with four weekly flights.

“Albufeira’s presence in these markets aims to boost the impact of this new air connection, promoting Albufeira as a competitive and attractive destination for the North American market”, concludes President José Carlos Rolo.
