Revenue for e-games and e-bingo was up 27 percent year over year, accounting for about half of the ₱104.1 billion pesos extracted by the industry in the first quarter, while casinos made up just 47.3 percent of the total.
For the first time, revenue from people gambling on their phones exceeded the amount from those gambling in casinos, offering a glimpse for the rest of the world as many countries legalise the controversial practice.
