However, from tomorrow onwards, the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) predicts that the weather will stabilise and there will be a transition to dry and hot weather.

For today, meteorologists anticipate precipitation for the entire Azores archipelago and for the entire North and Centre of mainland Portugal, with the exception of Bragança, Guarda, and Castelo Branco. South of Lisbon and Évora, there is no forecast of rain, just cloudy skies, as is the case for Madeira.

Temperatures are expected to be around 20ºC, reaching 26ºC in Beja and Faro and 15ºC in Guarda. Lisbon could expect a maximum of 22ºC and a minimum of 14ºC, and Porto a maximum of 19ºC and a minimum of 13ºC.

For Tuesday, IPMA estimates that the sky will be partly cloudy in the North and Madeira, slightly cloudy in the Center and clear in Sangres and Faro. Rain only on the islands of the Western and Central groups of the Azores.

Temperatures are expected to reach 29ºC in Faro, 27ºC in Beja and Castelo Branco and 26ºC in Évora and Setúbal. Lisbon is expected to reach a maximum temperature of 24ºC and Porto 20ºC.

The IPMA forecasts an identical scenario (but a little warmer and sunnier) for Wednesday, May 21. The sky should remain partly cloudy in the North and partly cloudy in the Centre. Évora, Beja and Faro should have clear skies. The only place where it should rain, apparently, is on Terceira Island.

Temperatures could reach a maximum of 31ºC in Faro, 29ºC in Beja and Castelo Branco and 28ºC in Évora. In Lisbon, temperatures should not exceed 23ºC and in Porto, 20ºC.
