His sister Jillian told The Portugal News that a Facebook page has been set up Missing Person Greg Monks - Albufeira, Portugal where the latest information is being shared.

The latest post from a family member reads: “The family of Greg Monks is actively working with the local GNR in Albufeira to support the ongoing efforts to locate him. We are awaiting formal instructions from the authorities to organise a larger search operation. To this end, we are appealing for the support of people with experience in large-scale search and rescue operations, since, as an ordinary family, we do not have the knowledge or experience necessary to deal with a situation of this nature.

“Given the number of police personnel and resources currently in the region, it is clear that the resources available to the local GNR are insufficient to respond adequately to the complexity of this case. Therefore, we urgently request the intervention of the higher authorities in Portugal, as well as the increased involvement of the British government.

“We also appeal to all people with political connections to exert their influence in order to mobilise institutional support and additional resources. Greater media visibility at a national level could also be crucial to accelerating these efforts.

“If you have any suggestions or contacts that could help advance this cause, please contact us as soon as possible.

The last sighting of Greg has been shared. The image is from CCTV footage which show him “going further in the opposite direction of his accommodation” and was “still on the early hours of Wednesday, nothing more recent”.

Posters for printing are also being shared on the page, giving details of how to help if you have any information.

Greg has been missing since 28 May. He is 38 years old, is 6”1 tall with a slim build. He has blue eyes, dark hair and a full trimmed beard. He has a strong Glaswegian accent and was last seen wearing dark blue Nike shorts and a t- shirt. Anyone with information is being asked to call +351 289 590 790 and cite case number 1159/25.OGBABF
