The fair returns once again to one of the most famous Lisbon’s parks, which has already reached its "physical space limit", and this year, in addition to having 350 pavilions and 963 publishing brands, it will present an unprecedented green initiative, which will allow thousands of trees to be planted, with an investment of 135 thousand euros.

The Portuguese Association of Publishers and Booksellers (APEL) hopes to surpass last year in the number of cultural initiatives, with more than 3 thousand events planned, of which 1,200 will be attended by authors.

This year, a new square will be inaugurated, and there will be more portable ramps and wheelchairs, provided by Santa Casa da Misericórdia, for people with reduced mobility.

Events with Portuguese sign language and the existence of a colour-blind alphabet, which, among other things, helps people find their way around the squares.

The children’s program has been reinforced, with workshops, staged readings and the return of “Camping with Stories” at Estufa Fria.

Among the services available, the coat rack, which offers postal delivery of books and temporary storage of objects, an expanded food area and campaigns for donating and recycling books, are back.

As for the fair's opening hours, from Monday to Thursday, it will be open from 12pm to 10pm. On Fridays and the days before holidays (June 9, 12 and 18), the opening hours will be extended until 11pm.

On Saturdays, the event opens at 10am and closes at 11pm, while on Sundays and holidays (June 10, 13 and 19), the pavilions can also be visited from 10am, but close at 10pm.

The "H Hour" is back, in the last hour of the fair, but only from Monday to Thursday, allowing visitors to buy books in the participating pavilions with discounts of at least 50% on selected titles.

The opening ceremony will be held in the South Auditorium at 12pm, with the presence of the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the Minister of Culture, Dalila Rodrigues, and the Mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas.
