Blessed with beautiful sunshine, the event brought together families, friends, and supporters to enjoy a relaxing day in the park — all while raising awareness for one of the planet’s most vital creatures: the bee.
The fair was alive with colour and activity, thanks in part to the talented students of Rotary Interact from Quarteira School, who offered cheerful face painting that had children smiling ear to ear. The theme of the day was clear — bees! Stalls were dedicated to showcasing the incredible work of bees, with honey products, beekeeping demonstrations, and educational material from local beekeepers and organisations.
Special guest speaker Theresa, a well-known figure in the regional beekeeping community gave an inspiring talk about the crucial role bees play in global ecosystems and agriculture. Visitors left with a greater appreciation for these small but mighty pollinators.
The fair wasn’t just educational — it was a celebration. Live music, delicious food and drinks from Bistro G’s, raffles, and happy faces created a festive atmosphere. The air was full of laughter, the buzz of conversation — and fittingly, the buzz of bees!
AIRC extends heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers, stallholders, performers, and guests who made the day such a success. Your helping hands ,with a special thank you to Selma of TU, made a difference.
Together, the community proved that with just a little effort — and a lot of heart — we can help protect our environment and enjoy ourselves while doing it.
