In this production with Companhia Maior, Victor Hugo Pontes takes an eminently physical approach, inspired by the potential of a body that has already lived a long life – a counterpoint to his previous experience of working with teenagers. Whilst the vigour of youth is tempered by a lack of experience and self-control, in later life these limitations are overcome through stage experience. What idiosyncrasies are revealed in the physicality of these performers, whose long journey is etched into their bodies? To answer this question, Victor Hugo Pontes set out to find a choreographic expression.
