The exhibition brings together a series of portraits inspired by the people the artist has encountered over almost twenty years of travelling and working in different parts of the world. These are stories of lives lived across cultures, languages and borders, exploring how we preserve our roots, build bridges of communication and seek a sense of belonging in an increasingly globalised world.

Working primarily with acrylic on glass, Chris Bugge uses transparency, reflection and the overlapping of layers to create portraits that reveal different dimensions of the human experience. His work seeks to explore what we see on the surface and everything that lies beneath it.
