In the first half of 2025, beer sales dropped by 6.3 percent, while the demand for alcohol-free alternatives has more than doubled between 2013 and 2023, with production reaching 556 million litres and valued at approximately €548 million.

This transformation in the country’s beer culture represents the steepest decline in the domestic market since 1993, amounting to a reduction of almost 262 million litres and bringing the total consumption to roughly 3.9 billion litres.
