According to Ryanair: “Lisbon was the worst airport in Portugal for border control delays during the summer, with passengers facing queues of up to 2.5 hours due to staff shortages. Minister Luz must act now to ensure that border control at Lisbon Airport is sufficiently staffed, preventing passengers' autumn holiday travel from being hampered by excessive and avoidable wait times”.
Ryanair's Director of Communications, Jade Kirwan, said: "The queues at Lisbon Airport's border control this summer were completely unacceptable, with passengers enduring unjustifiable delays of up to two and a half hours due to chronic staffing shortages. These delays not only caused great inconvenience to passengers traveling through Lisbon Airport but also damaged Portugal's international reputation as a tourist destination. Ryanair calls on Minister Luz to take urgent action and ensure that all passengers traveling through Lisbon Airport this summer."
