On its website, the Porto Council advises that on the day of the race, which includes a five-kilometre walk and a 10-kilometre run, starting and finishing on Avenida dos Aliados, the public should remove their vehicles from restricted areas.
Because of this, on Sunday, between midnight and 10pm there will be parking restrictions in Praça do General Humberto Delgado and Rua de Camões, and from 9 am to 10 pm traffic will be cut off in Praça do General Humberto Delgado, Avenida dos Aliados, Rua do Dr. Antônio Luís Gomes, Praça da Trindade and Rua da Trindade.
From 2pm to 10pm, traffic will also be blocked in Praça da Liberdade, Praça da Trindade, Rua do Clube dos Fenianos, Rua do Dr. Magalhães Lemos, and Rua de Elísio de Melo.
Traffic will be one-way (north-south) on Rua do Almada, Rua de José Falcão, and Praça de Guilherme Gomes Fernandes, while traffic on Rua de Sá da Bandeira and Rua Formosa will only be allowed in the south-north direction between 2pm and 10pm.
The Almadas Tunnel will be completely blocked from 2pm to 10pm, and the same will happen in the vicinity of Praça da Liberdade, Praça Almeida Garrett, Passeio das Fontainhas, Rua da Alegria, Rua Damião de Góis, the Gonçalo Cristóvão Viaduct, areas of Avenida da Boavista, Avenida Rodrigues de Freitas, and other city streets. The city hall also highlights that during the period of traffic management with total road closures on the streets where the 31st Lidl São Silvestre Cidade do Porto takes place, the STCP and intercity bus stops located in those areas will be deactivated.
Access to parking areas located along the route may also be restricted.
The 31st São Silvestre has 18,000 registered participants, with 14,000 in the 10-kilometre race and 4,000 in the 5-kilometre walk.
