She lives with me in the beautiful Algarve, alongside her brother, and she is, without question, the heart of our family.

When Alice was just 3 years old, she was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome, a rare and severe neurological disorder that affects almost every aspect of daily life. It primarily impacts girls, robbing them of speech, hand function, and mobility they had already begun to develop, bringing with it seizures, breathing difficulties, scoliosis, and a constant need for specialist care.

Alice cannot speak, but she communicates with her eyes and her smile. She cannot walk independently, but she fights every single day with a strength that humbles me completely.

My name is Salomé. I am Alice’s mother, her sole carer, and her provider, a single parent to her and her brother, with no co-parent and no one to share the weight. Every therapy appointment, every hospital visit, every specialist consultation, I face alone. I do so willingly, because Alice deserves everything.

But right now, I am facing a barrier I cannot overcome alone: transport.

Alice needs a safe, adapted vehicle to reach her therapies and medical appointments. Without one, every journey puts her comfort and safety at risk.

I am fundraising to purchase a vehicle that accommodates her wheelchair securely, so we can travel with the dignity and safety she deserves.

If you can donate, share, or simply spread the word, you will be making a real difference in a little girl’s life. Alice is nearly nine. She has places to be, and she needs your help to get there.

Every contribution brings Alice one step closer.
