Café da Garagem is an absolute hidden gem—and one of my favourite coffee spots in Lisbon.

It’s not a usual café, though. From here, you get stunning views over Alfama, paired with a really unique, bohemian atmosphere.

The café is tucked inside Taborda Theatre, and the design feels like a kind of beautiful creative chaos—retro lamps, a piano, quotes from plays, old theatre props, even shoes once worn by actors. Every corner tells a story.

It’s also not the easiest place to find. I actually discovered it through an article. After being away from Lisbon for a while, I thought I’d remember the way… but when I got there, it just looked like an ordinary building with no clear signs. I even thought it might be closed, until I saw a couple walk in and realised I was in the right place.

If you’re into artistic spaces and hidden spots with a view, this one is definitely worth a visit.
