Faro will host a unique wine event next Friday, 1 May. The "Not Your Champagne Day – Sparkling Wine Experience" will take place at the By Opus restaurant, from 7 pm to 10 pm, serving as a launch platform for a new wine club in the Algarve, focused on uniting enthusiasts through social and educational experiences around national wine heritage.

The project departs from traditional tastings, proposing an intimate, immersive evening where the spotlight is on nationally produced sparkling wine. During the experience, participants will be guided by a sommelier on a sensory journey that crosses seven of Portugal's most important sparkling wine regions. Each wine will be paired with a carefully selected range of appetisers designed by the chef, ensuring a pairing that enhances each wine's unique characteristics in an accessible and engaging way.

According to the organisers, this initiative aims to establish itself as an experience of connection and discovery, serving as the starting point for a community that values conviviality among "wine lovers". Focusing on the "Sparkling Wine" designation highlights the national product's identity and quality compared to international options, while educating consumers and encouraging social interaction.

Because the initiative is exclusive, capacity is limited to 30 guests, with a participation cost of €79 per person. Those interested in securing their presence at this launch can make reservations through the Eventbrite platform, guaranteeing their place in what promises to be an effervescent evening in the heart of the Algarve capital.
