Operated by CP, the restored CP 9000 locomotive will depart from Aveiro at 1.45pm, taking passengers on a scenic trip to Macinhata do Vouga before continuing to Águeda.
An authentic journey
The first stop in Macinhata do Vouga will feature live music, regional products on display and complimentary Águeda pastries for travellers.
Additionally, visitors will also be able to explore the Railway Museum through a guided tour.
This journey then continues to Águeda, where passengers will have around two hours to discover the town’s historic centre, admire the vibrant urban art installations of the AgitÁgueda festival and stroll beneath the internationally renowned Umbrella Sky project.
A range of cultural activities and exhibitions will also be taking place across the town during the stop.
The return service is scheduled to arrive back in Aveiro at around 8.07pm.
This initiative is organised through a partnership between CP, Águeda City Council, and the Parish Council of Macinhata do Vouga.
The historic train can accommodate up to 206 passengers, with adult tickets priced at €41 and children aged between 4 and 12 paying €25.
Tickets can be purchased at CP ticket offices or through the operator’s online booking platform.
