The UN credits community-led, peer-led counselling, testing and prevention programmes with reaching vulnerable groups and strengthening trust in healthcare. Health Minister Prof Chheang Ra called the achievement a milestone and pledged to sustain progress.

The 95-95-95 targets require 95 percent of people living with HIV to know their status, 95 percent of those diagnosed to receive treatment, and 95 percent of those on treatment to achieve viral suppression. Cambodia has built on earlier success, having met the previous 90-90-90 global targets in 2017, three years ahead of schedule.
