The new clinic will be located in a central area of Albufeira, close to the EN125. Its location was selected to serve patients from Albufeira and neighbouring municipalities, including Loulé and Silves.

The company says the facility will help reduce the distances patients need to travel for regular treatment while increasing the availability of specialised kidney care in the region.

The clinic will become part of B. Braun’s international kidney-care network, which operates more than 350 dialysis centres around the world.

It will be equipped with advanced medical technology and designed to provide patients with a modern and comfortable environment. Treatment will be provided by medical and nursing teams, with a focus on safety, quality and personalised care.

Rodrigo Barroso, Country Manager of B. Braun Portugal, said the expansion forms part of the company’s strategy to provide patients with closer and more equal access to personalised kidney care.

In addition to serving Algarve residents, the clinic will be able to welcome kidney patients visiting the region on holiday. This will allow them to continue receiving treatment during their stay in the Algarve.

Ana Paiva, Medical Director of B. Braun Avitum Clinics, highlighted the importance of providing patients with continuous medical support throughout their treatment.

The company has not yet announced the value of the investment or the expected opening date.
