Cross-cultural Achievements

The class earned an average IB score of 32, and the top student scored 44 out of 45. Thirty-six per cent of students earned the IB Bilingual Diploma, a fitting reflection of our international community, a lively gathering place of many traditions guiding kids to see the world through multiple languages and lenses.

Additionally, this year marks a historic first for United Lisbon, with an alumnus enrolling in the Experimental Psychology program at the University of Oxford. This milestone reflects both personal achievement and growing ambition within the school’s IB community.

Above worldwide averages

United Lisbon students beat world averages across all subjects in the results analysis. In sciences, the school recorded 4.93 in Biology, (versus a 4.48 average worldwide), and 5.00 in Chemistry (versus a 4.47 average worldwide).

The class also excelled in languages, beating worldwide averages across the board: 5.00 in English A (Language and Literature), 5.67 in Portuguese A, 5.73 in English B, 6.25 in Portuguese B, and 5.33 in Spanish ab initio.

Students also surpassed global benchmarks in Business Management, Geography and History.

Many destinations, endless possibilities

The selected destinations prove this group cannot be put into one category. Graduates are pursuing psychology at Oxford, history and politics at the University of Edinburgh, aerospace engineering at the University of Bath, medicine and surgery at Queen Mary University of London’s Malta campus, and AI and robotics at the University of Warwick.

Others are taking specialized and creative paths; fashion marketing and architecture at the University of the Arts London, fine arts at Norwich University of the Arts, fashion design at Institut Français de la Mode, hospitality at École hôtelière de Lausanne, and creative media and game technologies at Hanze University of Applied Sciences. Further destinations range from the University of Amsterdam and Maastricht University to Eindhoven University of Technology, King’s College London, ESADE, Tilburg University and University College London.

That breadth extends well beyond Europe. Confirmed plans also include study in the United States and China, underlining how confidently this class is stepping into a global future.

A gap year can be a step forward

For some graduates, the next chapter will begin outside a university lecture hall, and this path is no less meaningful. One student has decided to attend a Japanese language school before applying to the Tokyo University of the Arts, using the gap year to cultivate the fluency and cultural insight required for a niche creative project. Certain individuals are pursuing culinary or Portuguese language studies. Meanwhile, others are using this period to define their interdisciplinary and creative objectives prior to their next application. This is not a break in the journey; it is a smart choice about when to move forward.

More than a set of results

The combination of results and destinations capture what an IB education can make possible: critical analysis, conceptual breadth and self-directed vision. Whether the journey leads to a research laboratory, a design studio, a hospital, a business school or a year of focused preparation, the Class of 2026 leaves United Lisbon ready to shape what comes next.
