The alarm was raised at 6:07 pm, mobilising dozens of emergency personnel and various response units; firefighters brought the fire under control by early evening and contained it to the building where it started.

No casualties were reported.

For safety reasons, authorities established a protective perimeter and carried out a precautionary evacuation of adjacent buildings.

According to Rodrigo Melo Gonçalves, the Lisbon City Council member responsible for Civil Protection, residents and workers could not re-enter neighbouring buildings until technical teams on site completed a safety assessment.
