In the report accompanying the proposed State Budget for 2027 (OE2027), the tax on tobacco consumption is estimated to yield €1,864 million in 2027, €139 million more than estimated for the full year 2026.

As for the tax on alcohol, alcoholic beverages and beverages with added sugar or sweeteners (IABA), it should yield €392 million, €27 million more than projected for 2026.

Value estimates

For both the tobacco tax and IABA, the estimated full-year 2026 value will exceed the amount budgeted in the same year's proposed budget.

In this context, revenue growth from these same taxes will exceed the estimated growth from 2025 to 2026.
