easyJet will offer a £66.50 discount on flights to customers travelling with children under the age of 18 months. To qualify, bookings must be made by 26 November for travel taking place by 31 October 2028. Babies must be under the age of two at the time of travel.

Applying for a passport

In the UK, children’s passports are valid for five years, unlike adult passports, which have a longer validity period. Parents or guardians must submit two identical photographs of the child, along with other documentation, including the parents’ passports, to confirm the child’s entitlement to British nationality.

For children under the age of five, a neutral expression and direct eye contact with the camera are not required. Children under the age of one are also not required to have their eyes open in the photograph. In addition, a countersignature from someone who can confirm the child’s identity is required. This person must have known the child for at least two years. They may also be a current or retired teacher or a social worker, provided they live in the UK and hold a valid British or Irish passport.

Travelling with children

Although travelling with young children may seem daunting, 48% of respondents to a survey by easyJet holidays said the experience was easier than they had expected, while 87% said they would do it again.

Figures from the same source also show that the number of babies travelling in 2026 has increased by 10% compared with 2025, despite there still being two months left in the year.

“Travel has a unique way of bringing families closer together, and a baby’s first holiday is often one of those moments parents remember for years,” said Stuart Wright, Customer Director at easyJet holidays.

“By covering the cost of a baby’s first passport, we’re helping more families start making those memories a little sooner.”

By covering the cost of a child’s passport, Wright believes easyJet is helping families create lasting memories with their youngest members a little earlier.
