Armindo Ribeiro, director of the Emergency Service at the Hospital do Litoral Alentejano (HLA), the unit where André Ventura was admitted today after feeling unwell in Odemira, Beja, assured journalists that the party leader “is stable”.

The transfer of the party leader was completed at 16:43, around two hours after he was admitted to the HLA, transported in an ambulance from the Mixed Fire Department of Santiago do Cacém, accompanied by vehicles from the party and the GNR.

Meanwhile, André Ventura himself published a photo of himself inside the HLA on the social network X, before leaving that hospital unit.

According to Armindo Ribeiro's explanations to journalists, the Chega leader underwent “normal tests for chest pain” at the Alentejo hospital, in the Setúbal district, but the results “were all negative”.

However, “as a precaution”, it was decided to transfer him from the Hospital de São Bernardo, in Setúbal, to undergo catheterization.

“I know that yesterday, an acute myocardial infarction was ruled out. However, as it was a second episode, we decided to contact the hospital in Setúbal and he will undergo a catheterization”, highlighted Armindo Ribeiro.

This is a medical procedure used to diagnose and treat problems with the heart and blood vessels that involves inserting a catheter into a blood vessel and guiding it to the heart.

“A catheterization is nothing more or less than an examination that will observe whether [the patient] has lesions in the coronary arteries, that is, the arteries that are in the heart,” explained the director of the Emergency Room.

HLA does not have a Cardiology service, only consultations for this specialty, and, therefore, Hospital São Bernardo is the hospital unit to which “patients with the same suspicion as deputy André Ventura” are sent or when more specialized exams are necessary, indicated the service director.
